Our Approach

1.  Discovery

During this initial step in the process, your consultant will visit your business to learn more about your overall business, products, and processes. This information will help us to develop a unique SR&ED identification and tracking plan for your business.

2.  Investigation

In this labour-intensive stage, our team of consultants will thoroughly research your documentation (i.e. files, emails, drawings and diagrams, financials) in order to separate your R&D work into projects which make sense. AGM is committed to digging deep at this step in the process, as this is often where we are able to identify hidden or unobvious projects. Our systematic approach to documentation research allows us to pinpoint eligible projects with the utmost accuracy.

3.  Regular / Routine Tracking

Our Real-Time tracking method means your projects are tracked as they occur. Identified projects will be tracked on an on-going basis by your consultant in conjunction with your R&D team. Upcoming projects will be investigated throughout the fiscal year to ensure they are developed in accordance with SR&ED requirements. This ensures that your business does not miss out on valuable investment dollars.

4.  Advisory & Awareness

The AGM team is committed to providing your staff with the knowledge they need to assist you in maximizing your SR&ED claim. Throughout the course of your claim year, our consultants will advise your team on development activities and tracking systems that will help us to demonstration systematic investigation to the CRA. By providing this on-going advisory service, AGM is able to ensure synergy amongst your R&D team that will keep SR&ED tracking at the forefront for the duration of the fiscal year. This helps us to ensure that all projects are properly documented, therefore maximizing your claim potential.

5. Claim Submission

Once all project are complete, our team will prepare your SR&ED package in its entirety- from the SR&ED tax forms to all financial-related documents.  We will submit and work with internal or external accounting personnel to submit your claim in a timely manner and will provide, prepare and communicate all project technical and financial aspects to you in order to ensure you are one hundred percent satisfied with the work we have done.

6.  CRA RFI and Reviews

Our proven Real-Time tracking systems mean you will have all supporting documentation prepared in the event of and RFI or CRA review. Your business’ project binders from the claim year will be submitted in a timely fashion, indicating to the CRA that your claim was properly tracked and prepared. In the even that your claim reaches the RFI or review stage, AGM will manage and direct all activities related to these requested and train all members of your team to gracefully manage the review process.
